The Editor

While the past few months have taken us on a journey back in time to uncover the ancient pharaohs of Egypt at the immersive institution in the capital, the arrival of the famous Gauls during the back-to-school period at this digital art temple is just as exciting. And summer is no exception! Two of the most beloved exhibitions since the venue opened in 2018 are making a comeback: Van Gogh's "Starry Night" and Dreamed Japan. These exhibitions will be available every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday until the end of summer! Following in the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh, we can never get enough of his "Starry Night." This iconic masterpiece is not only displayed at the Musée d'Orsay but is also seen on various merchandise. Now, you can experience it in a whole new way as it comes to life on the walls and floor of...At the Atelier des Lumières, it feels like we're seeing it for the very first time. The colors blend and dance, stretching across the walls to whisk us away on a fantastical journey. The venue delves into the entire body of work of the painting legend that is Vincent Van Gogh, plunging us into his most iconic masterpieces, from his landscapes in Auvers-sur-Oise to his myriad flower arrangements. It's the disorderly, vast, yet lyrical world of the artist unfurling right before us.

Discovering Japan

In a short program, the Atelier des Lumières takes us on a journey not only through space, but also through time, to take us to Japan. Not the modern Japan, but the one that shapes our imagination. The Japan of samurais and geishas, cherry blossoms and blue sea waves. A way to pay homage to Van Gogh's fascination with Japan, but also more generally to highlight the influence of Japanese art on Westerners. With a wealth of prints and paintings, the institution invites us to discover a dreamlike world, made up of landscapes, spirits, animals, and plants. A mysterious universe, full of magic, that carries us into the heart of Japanese legends and stories, leaving us feeling calm and amazed.
