The Editor

Her name is Emma Orlando, but she is now known as Dolanor in the Parisian artistic circles. Based in Paris, this self-taught painter has built, canvas by canvas, an immediately recognizable universe: sunny, vibrant, inhabited. No art school, no master to imitate. Just a heightened sensitivity, hours spent in front of the canvas, and a unique perspective on the world around her.

A palette that smells of sunscreen and auteur cinema

What strikes you right away in Dolanor's work is this omnipresent light that seems to emerge from deep within her canvases. Working mainly with oil and acrylic, she creates scenes bathed in Mediterranean warmth. Bold contrasts, colors that pop without ever being overwhelming, a sunny palette that evokes childhood summers and the retro aesthetics of a recolored film.

Her gaze is nourished by the sea, the sun, but also by cinema and a certain idea of suspended time. Her canvases flirt with surrealism without ever fully diving into it; they remain something recognizable, intimate, but with that little dreamlike touch that leaves a lasting impression.

Moments of Everyday Life

What makes Dolanor's work truly striking is her rare ability to reveal the hidden sparkle of everyday life. She doesn’t paint grand epic scenes or spectacular subjects. Instead, she captures the small moments, the ones we forget too quickly, those we never think to photograph, and imbues them with a dreamy and sensitive quality that suddenly makes them precious. A character in the warm light of sunset...

"afternoon, a coastal landscape shimmering in the heat, an ordinary scene transformed into a timeless postcard."

Each painting acts as an invitation to escape, a space for contemplation that you can easily enter, leaving with a gentle melancholy. Exactly what we need this June.

Sunburn, an exhibition that truly lives up to its name

For this exhibition, Dolanor has chosen a title that says it all: Sunburn. A gentle burn. A warmth that lingers on the skin long after. That’s exactly the effect his work has: you leave with something, an image etched, a color that lingers. The Studio 34 Paris, with its creative and intimate atmosphere, is the perfect setting to discover these canvases in the best conditions.

Great news: the artworks are available for sale. In other words, you can walk away with a piece of sunshine under your arm. And honestly, as a decor investment for the summer, it doesn't get much better than this.
