A new page is turning and an exciting new chapter is being written for Théâtre Juliette Récamier. Located in the heart of the 7th arrondissement, this beloved venue is embarking on a fresh adventure alongside Seine & Watts, under the artistic direction of Gilbert Désveaux. The mission? To keep shining a spotlight on the values that have always defined this theater: openness, making culture accessible to everyone, and a wonderful diversity of shows. And to kick off this first season, the theater is offering a rich and distinctive program.

A Rich Program for This First Season
Two major productions are taking the stage at the Juliette Récamier Theatre at the start of the cultural season. First, the big hit from the Avignon OFF Festival, The Secrets of Shadows, written by the author of the Les Poulbots company, Grégory Bellanger, will make its Parisian debut from September 17th. This family investigation weaves together past and present, Resistance secrets and personal history, to bring to life a tale that's both gripping and thrilling.

Starting September 24th, it's the reinvention of a true classic that will take the stage at the Théâtre Juliette Récamier for 35 performances. Macbett, the tragic farce imagined by Eugène Ionesco based on Shakespeare's Macbeth, directed by Jérémie Le Louët and the company Les Dramaticules, takes you on a performance blending humor and fantasy, which explores the impulses and mechanisms of power. A show that appeals to both adults and children from age 10 and up.
Another exciting new addition: the « Texts on Stage » series. The first will be The Strange Defeat, an adaptation of Marc Bloch's celebrated text, performed by Xavier Gallais on Sundays, September 20th, October 4th and 18th.

Juliette Récamier Theatre is over 115 years of history. Originally called the Récamier Hall when it opened in 1909, the venue became a Theatre in 1958. Over the decades, some of the greatest names in theatre, literature, and even philosophy have graced its stage, including Jean Vilar, Peter Brook, and Simone de Beauvoir.

Today more than ever, the Juliette Récamier Theatre aims to be an open and committed space, where artistic disciplines intersect and where all audiences have a place.
