The Editor

Since the beginning of February, the former headquarters of AP-HP, just in front of the City Hall, has begun a new life: Plateau urbain, a temporary urban cooperative, has installed the largest coworking space in Paris. In the heart of a large courtyard and in spacious premises, several events will be organized this summer, with the detailed program being published shortly. A multitude of cultural events are planned. Since February 2023 and for 18 months, the 30,000 square meters of the former AP-HP headquarters are being transformed into the capital's first "mission building." The goal is to welcome artists, craftsmen, associations, and social and solidarity economy structures. A variety of cultural events will unfold, and because meeting people is at the heart of the project, a cafe will be set up on the ground floor. On June 25th, the coworking space inaugurated with a big market...It's the creator's market. About fifty exhibitors were able to sell clothes, ceramics, jewelry, illustrations, candles, photos, fruit pastes, books, and accessories. And my little finger tells me that this shouldn't be the last of the season!

In the long run, a project of solidarity renovation

By mid-2024, the scenery will change but the spirit of solidarity will remain intact: the building will be renovated to accommodate social housing for families, healthcare workers, and young workers, as well as a Women's House. A women's solidarity stop will also be created. The project also includes shops, a market, a fitness center, a healthcare center, a solidarity restaurant, workshop-boutiques, a neighborhood café, and more... In short, it is a real living space adapted to the challenges of tomorrow that will be available to people in precarious situations.

The completion of the works is planned for 2027: patience is the key, and in the meantime, go and support the artists on site and stay engaged.
