The legacy of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris is stronger than ever. After the return of the Olympic basin to the Tuileries Garden last June and until September 14, the 10 golden statues representing the great women of French history will make their comeback to the capital in the summer of 2025.

Statues that Marked the Opening of the Olympics
The date is set for July 26, 2025, exactly one year after the opening ceremony of the most eagerly awaited sporting event. In addition to the metal horse and its mysterious rider galloping on stage, there will be 10 gold statues four meters tall, representing illustrious women from the fields of art, literature, science, politics, and sports for spectators from around the world to discover. In just a few days, they will be installed and inaugurated in the 18th arrondissement, rue de la Chapelle.

A Permanent Installation in the 18th
Representing Christine de Pizan, Jeanne Barret, Olympe de Gouges, Louise Michel, Alice Guy, Alice Milliat, Paulette Nardal, Simone de Beauvoir, Simone Veil, and Gisèle Halimi, these statues were temporarily displayed at the National Assembly from September 21 to October 4, 2024. They now have a permanent spot in the 18th. You can see them for free and every day. Enjoy!
