In Therapy is about to have a wonderful comeback! Aired on Arte between 2021 and 2022, this fiction by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache (The Intouchables, The Specials), which is itself adapted from the Israeli series BeTipul, will soon be brought to the stage at the Théâtre Antoine (10th arrondissement) starting January 2026. At the helm is actor and set designer Charles Templon, whose latest project (A President Shouldn't Say That...), from 2023, shed light on the behind the scenes of the Hollande presidency from the stage of the Théâtre Libre.

Francis Huster as the Therapist
To take on the role of Frédéric Pierrot, who was impeccable as Philippe Dayan, Charles Templon has turned to Francis Huster, who was recently honored with a Molière d'honneur for his entire career. In an interview with Le Parisien on July 12, the 77-year-old actor reveals that he will portray the main character in the 40 performances scheduled for next winter. It’s another challenge for the M6 presenter, who seems to juggle between series, theater, and cinema without ever tiring: “I’m doing "Hamlet" at the Carcassonne festival in July, and then I’m...I'm off to Paris next! I’ll be filming for TF1, the third season of the series "Zodiac", starting at the end of August. I'm also working on the musical "La légende de Monte Cristo", directed by Sergio Postigo, where we created the likeness of Alexandre Dumas using artificial intelligence, and I’m his voice. And then in 2026, there’s the new film by Claude Lelouch, a sort of "Uns et les autres 2" », he proudly mentions in the daily news.

Touching intertwined tales
Across two seasons of 35 episodes each, In Therapy follows the confessions of 10 patients in the aftermath of the attacks on November 13, 2015 from the office of Philippe Dayan, a competent yet troubled sexagenarian psychoanalyst, far from the apathy one might expect in this role. The episodes, averaging about 25 minutes, cleverly focus on a single session, portraying worn yet resilient life paths, especially when the therapist himself becomes a patient, revealing his own emotions to a confidante.
The series instantly achieves phenomenal success, praised by critics for its star-studded cast (Pio Marmaï, Mélanie Thierry, Reda Kateb), the accuracy of its dialogues, and the complexity with which they address the troubles of a society.
Summer in shock. Striking, sincere, it’s easy to imagine the concept of In Therapy on the stage of the Théâtre Antoine, which is already shaping up to be one of the highlights of the upcoming theater season."En thérapie": cette énième adaptation du "BeTipul" israélien, cette fois-ci française, marche très bien. Passons sur la question de la psychanalyse. La série, forcément statique, montre combien le dialogue (& ce qui est tu) peut-être est puissamment émouvant, voire bouleversant. pic.twitter.com/5gqtzSYIKR
