The Editor

She was discovered on France's Got Talent in 2009, we’ve watched her videos on YouTube countless times since, and we’ve continued to follow her journey through TV shows, albums, and performances… Without a doubt, Lola Dubini is a complete artist who has chosen not to limit herself to just one art form, much to our delight. Until March 26, 2026, the actress-comedian-singer invites you to spend some time with her in her show Prélude, performed every Thursday evening at La Nouvelle Seine. There, she shares a piece of her life and her anecdotes, with humor and music. Here are 5 great reasons to go starting next Thursday!

1) Because it’s Lola Dubini (yes, that’s a perfectly valid argument)

She’s vibrant, she’s smiling, she’s intense. Maybe too much for her taste; but for us, that’s exactly what we love. On stage as in real life, there’s no distinction: Lola Dubini is the same person, no frills attached. From the moment she arrives, the vibe is set: we’re not facing the artist we’ve seen on TV or who has 562,000 followers on social media, but simply Lola. Whole, authentic, human, ready to share with the audience jokes as well as deeply personal anecdotes.

2) She shares these moments of life that we can all relate to

Preamble, in fact, is akin to a narrative of...life and more specifically the story of the burn-out she went through. From before, during, and after. It's a strong theme, ambitious to tackle on stage, yet the bet is successfully made. Why? Because we can relate, we're moved, we're touched. Because when she asks who in the audience has already experienced one, the applause erupts. Because she raises powerful topics — distress, death, anxieties, guilt, identity, family... — while brilliantly linking them with lighter references: her unapologetic passion for romantic comedies as well as for Faites entrer l'accusé, her love for Jude Law in every form, or even Yanns, her "guilty pleasure musical" (try bringing up "Clic Clic Pan Pan" to see what happens).

Because she takes the glitter away from the jobs labeled "passion" (to be pronounced with a pinched expression), t.often glamorized, but which reality drowns out the "passion" under a wave of pressure and administration. Because, standing on that stage, she transforms her personal story into a universal tale. And above all, she reminds us that even if our theater — a clever metaphor for identifying oneself — is broken, we all have the resources within us to repair it and make it even more beautiful.

3) It's not perfect, and that’s exactly what makes it perfect

In contrast to a perfectly timed show, where every line is measured to the second, Prelude offers a moment of sweetness and humanity, where Lola talks to us about the things of life, as if we were among friends. And just like life itself, the show evolves and refines itself as it is performed. Sometimes, it takes off...In every sense: fun digressions, spontaneous jokes, live adjustments, forgotten lines — after all, it's a live show, as she shares with us afterward — impressions of baby zebras and foreskin... There's no tension, and this carefree attitude feels so refreshing!

4) A cozy and intimate setting

La Nouvelle Seine is a charming little venue located in the basement of a barge moored by the banks of the Seine, right at the foot of Notre-Dame Cathedral. In other words, the setting is already stunning from the moment you walk in, and even more so once you’re settled in. With a capacity of about a hundred spectators, this long hall allows for a real closeness with the artist. Sure, it might sway a little sometimes, but we promise that Lola's sparkling entrance with the song “Where’s my husband?” by Raye — a choice we wholeheartedly applaud — will make you forget any potential seasickness.

5) She sings and makes us sing

An actress, but above all a singer, Lola beautifully combines her two talents.

In this show, with her guitar in hand, she offers genuine musical moments, like delightful breaths of fresh air, as she performs several of her original songs. And the effect is immediate: with her crystal-clear voice, capable of both softness and power, she takes us on a delicate and deeply personal emotional journey. There's no need to know the lyrics, she invites the audience to sing along with some choruses that stick in your head for the rest of the evening, inspiring you to face Friday—and life—with a smile.
