Paris Photo, an unmissable event for artists, collectors, and all photography enthusiasts, is back in the capital for four days of a photography-focused fair. The program includes historical and contemporary artworks, both emerging and internationally recognized artists, solo shows, awards ceremonies, talks, performances, and much more.

Famous and emerging artists

For its 26th edition, Paris Photo brings together 191 galleries and publishers from around the world at the Grand Palais Éphémère, as well as online with Paris Photo Online Viewing Rooms. The main sector features the most representative artists in contemporary photography, including Victor Burgin, Zanele Muholi, Carrie Mae Weems, Senta Simond, and Ming Smith. All of them have been exhibited in major international institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Jeu de Paume, or the Maison Européenne de la Photographie. A total of 133 galleries are part of this extraordinary event.

But what makes this fair truly remarkable are its emerging artists, the future big names of tomorrow, gathered within the Curiosa sector. Since 2015, Paris Photo has been supporting young exhibitors every year, giving them the opportunity to participate in one of the largest photography events that exists. This year, Curiosa welcomes 16 galleries from 9 different countries — Argentina, Australia, Germany, Belgium, Canada, France, Italy, Taiwan, and Switzerland — each presenting their unique styles and perspectives.Being an artist for the first time with a solo show. According to Anna Planas, Curiosa curator and new artistic director of Paris Photo, "the Curiosa sector offers the public the opportunity to discover 16 artist projects that use the multiple dimensions of the image in a diversity of practices. From documentary photography to performance, this sector gives a special visibility to the French scene and showcases unpublished works". A rich and eclectic program. In addition to galleries, 35 French and international publishing houses are also coming to demonstrate the importance of the photography book in the history of this art. With 300 book signing sessions by the biggest photography stars accompanying their presence, not to mention the three award ceremonies organized on Friday, November 10th...Paris Photo and the Aperture Foundation offer various awards, including the First Photobook Award, the Photobook of the Year Award, and the Photographic Catalog of the Year Award. Throughout the four-day event, there will be talks, student presentations, and partner exhibitions, featuring works from the JP Morgan Chase Art Collection and the BMW Art Makers program by Eva Nielsen and Marianne Derrien. This will provide a wide range of photographic perspectives for both enthusiasts and experts. Additionally, the Elles x Paris Photo exhibition highlights 38 selected female artists from the participating galleries, aiming to increase representation of women artists at the fair.
