The Editor

Attention skaters, dancers, and all other riders: a shockwave is about to crash down on the Théâtre du Châtelet! On April 25, 26, and 27, the crème de la crème of urban arts is gathering for OLLIE, a show that pushes the limits of movement and artistic expression, created by Nicolas Musin. Blending contemporary dance, parkour, and skateboarding, OLLIE shakes up the norms and challenges expectations.

A fusion of urban disciplines

With OLLIE, Pavillon Noir presents a performance that’s both raw and hypnotic, merging parkour, dance, and skateboarding. Set against the backdrop of a massive skateboard ramp, the disciplines intersect and collide: parkour meets contemporary dance, and movements converse with music, all under the sonic direction of Pedro Winter. An exclusive soundtrack featuring talents from the French Touch, sprinkled with lyrics by Kae Tempest, Mark Gonzales, and Matt Lloyd, enhances the poetic flow of the show.

A Star-Studded Cast

Among the 17 artists on stage, 2024 World Parkour Champion Caryl Cordt-Moller and Maxime Renaud, standout figures of the Paris 2024 Olympics, push the limits of movement. Let’s not forget Emmanuel Nasshan, famed for his lateral flip 130 meters high on the Eiffel Tower, and Meryt, a contemporary dance prodigy from the Hamburg Ballet. Four carefully selected Parisian skateboarders will also set the central ramp ablaze for a dynamic and liberating show, designed to break boundaries and shine on stages around the world.

In short, OLLIE promises to be a true manifesto of movement, an ode to youth and freedom, a moment suspended between physical prowess and artistic expression that you won’t want to miss.
