It’s one of the most legendary circuses in France since its creation in the 1980s. The Cirque Arlette Gruss and its stunning red and white tent is setting up for a couple of weeks in the capital. From November 29 to December 14, come join us on the Pelouse de Reuilly in the 12th to discover the new show Parenthèse. It promises a magical moment outside of time, blending poetic scenes and mesmerizing performances.
7 generations of circus performers
Founded in 1985 by Arlette Gruss – a seasoned trapeze artist and animal tamer, heir to a great family of circus performers – the Cirque Arlette Gruss has marked the revival of circus as we know it in France. Today, under the leadership of Gilbert Gruss (Arlette's son, who passed away in 2006), it continues to carry its identity forward, with the utmost respect for family traditions. It's a craft that has been passed down through seven generations, under this grand red and white tent.

Each creation is a true magical interlude, and for good reason, the family pays attention to every detail. The performers from here and beyond dazzle us, accompanied by a live orchestra made up of about ten musicians. The compositions are all original, and the melodic themes are proposed by Anthony Saugé, the troupe's composer. The same goes for the costumes, all unique and custom-made by Robert Rosello, who has dressed the biggest stages of cabaret, from Paradis Latin to Crazy Horse.
A new dreamy creation for the holidays
For the year-end festivities, Cirque Arlette Gruss has announced its arrival in the capital with a brand new production: Parenthèses. A show that combines sound, light, and stunning performances, invoking the imagination of dreams. Each scene is a genuine visual punctuation, between movements...element, silence, and suspension, all while blending traditional circus and modern compositions. What's on the program? Acrobatics performed by the Compañia Havana, training numbers imagined by Alexis Gruss and Sarah Houcke, humorous acts by Francesco Fratellini, and the aerial feats (that are completely crazy) of Darya Sharamet. International artists and French circus families have come together to bring us the best of today's circus!
