The Editor

500 artists, 4,000 m² of disused offices in the heart of La Défense, and iconic names of street art like Banksy and Invader: The Zoo Art Show takes us deep into the history of street art. And there's not much time left to enjoy it!

From 90s Squats to Glamorous Parisian Galleries

Organized like a time travel adventure, this exhibition lets us discover all the facets of street art, floor by floor. The journey starts on the 5th floor, with 1,000 m² of old-school graffiti in a "hardcore" style. We’re immersed in an 80s/90s squat vibe: hip-hop music, spray paint cans scattered around... You might even imagine picking up one of those cans and adding your own touch to the masterpiece.

On the fourth floor, the artworks grow in size and mastery.

You can see beautiful murals that are very intricate and sometimes play with perspectives. On the third floor, we find digital and light installations that create a unique sensory and interactive experience for the audience.

On the two upper floors and the ground floor, there's less wild street art. This space is dedicated to artists who have succeeded in blending urban art with traditional cultural institutions. These more refined works have often been loaned by Parisian galleries that specialize in art.

A Memory in Spray

Born in Philadelphia within the hip-hop culture in the late 1960s, street art soon spread across all of the United States and then around the world. For a long time, it was linked to rap and breakdancing, and graffiti originated as a clandestine art. It served as a means of expression for repressed and/or forgotten communities.

Present on the wall of Berlin, in Belfast, and even on the West Bank Barrier, street art is a means of resistance, but also a way to remember. It does not tell the official story; it expresses the feelings of those who have lived it from the inside. So, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and check out this exhibition—you only have until June 28th!
