After a brief closure due to the Agricultural Fair, rock enthusiasts and culture lovers can once again stroll through the Johnny Hallyday exhibition, comfortably installed at Paris Expo since the end of December. So that's what we did too. To get in the mood and be in tune with this great man, we put on our leather jacket, slipped on our Dr. Martens, drew a thick eyeliner on our eyelids, and finally, we felt ready to enter Johnny Hallyday's musical and personal universe. Like Sabrina, we didn't expect such a beautiful show. "« I found it particularly moving, even though it's not necessarily my generation. We learn more about his beginnings, his vulnerability, the void he leaves in France, and so on… "I will remember this for a long time"," assures this 44-year-old woman with a wide smile as she exits the exhibition. Unforgettable, and for good reason: 200 people and two years of work have led to this ambitious project, and to its success.

« A faithful and complete representation of his life »

Every day, hundreds of visitors flock to stroll through the 3000 m2 that highlight Johnny's rich journey, and this Monday morning is no exception. By 10:30 a.m., there is a crowd. Each person puts on their headphones, picks up their remote control, and waits in a holding area for their turn. In the background, "Poem on the 7th" roars, with emotion in the air. We know that this will not be like any other exhibition. « Johnny may not be my thing, and yet, with the audio accompaniment and such a killer set design, I was drawn in», admits Victor, 34, who was carried away by the words of Jean Reno, a French actor very close to Johnny Hallyday lending his voice to the project.Come see the audioguide. After watching a short 5-minute film, the viewer is invited to walk down an alley illuminated by spotlights and shrouded in fog. Walk in the footsteps of the artist, born Jean-Philippe Smet and transformed into Johnny Hallyday, before entering a large hall where thematic rooms and memories unfold. After admiring his stage costumes, dive into his concerts (over 3000 in a 57-year career!), his love of cinema, but also his loneliness and his final hours in Marnes-la-Coquette. André and Annick, 67 years old, came to Paris specifically for the exhibition, and it definitely did not disappoint these devoted fans with high expectations. "It's a very faithful representation, and especially complete, of his life. We've seen about ten of his concerts."Concerts in Lyon, in Saint-Étienne, and we rediscovered the feelings we had at the time. We hear his beautiful songs, we learn about the good and the bad experiences he lived... "We feel close to him," say the couple, who grew up with the man known as "the boss," a sign of his fame and leadership.

Nighttime visits, the new spring trend

To ensure an even more immersive experience for its audience, it is now possible to visit the exhibition during evening hours, a big innovation for this month of March. Every Wednesday and Thursday, spectators can journey through the highlights of his career as night falls, until 10pm (with last entry at 8pm maximum, as the exhibition lasts around 2 hours). A great way to start the night with Johnny, reconnect with his music, and once again pay tribute to this phenomenon that has touched more than four generations.
