The Editor

The big event dedicated to contemporary practices in moving images is back in Paris! Since 1997, the International Meetings Paris/Berlin have been offering a multidisciplinary approach in favor of contemporary creation in cinema, video, and multimedia. This year, more than 120 works from around fifty countries will be showcased to the public, most of them for the first time, through a rich and innovative program.

For this occasion, seven iconic venues in Paris – the Jeu de Paume, the Forum des images, the European House of Photography, the Studio Bastille, the Arab World Institute, the Museum of Hunting and Nature, and the International City of Arts – invite artists to present their works.

Emerging artists and recognized filmmakers

Resulting from a meticulous research process, the International Meetings Paris/Berlin blend renowned artists on the international scene with young emerging artists who are still relatively unknown.

born within the same programming.

Far from being just a simple series of screenings, the event brings together various activities, such as retrospectives, guest curations, VR programming, forums, and roundtable discussions. Designed as a space for exploration and reflection, the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin are completely free and offer everyone – professionals, enthusiasts, newcomers – an exceptional opportunity to dive into the world of contemporary audiovisual creation.

A Diverse Program

Like every year, the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin highlight artists who question society through new audiovisual forms. The program, for example, pays tribute to the work of Laure Prouvost, who always provides an immersive and sensory experience around the relationships between language, image, and perception. As well as the work of Albert Serra, whose cinema...a radical explores the boundaries of fiction, time, and vertigo. In another vein, the Meetings also dedicate a special session dedicated to Antoni Muntadas, known for his videos, installations, and public interventions that openly critique communication and the media. With his work Political Advertisement 1952-2024, he evokes the evolution of advertising strategies in presidential campaigns in the United States, exploiting fear, prejudice, and emotions through the media.

This event will also be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the fourth edition of the Moving Image Art Award. An international jury will grant a scholarship to one of the works presented during the event, encouraging new aesthetic and conceptual pathways. After Paris, the International Meetings Paris/Berlin will take place in Berlin in April 2026.
