It’s undeniable: The Atelier of Lights holds the keys to offer us the most immersive and unique journeys. With its new experience titled Renaissance: Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, say goodbye to Paris in 2026 and head to 15th century Italy, right in the heart of the Renaissance. A getaway beyond time and borders to (re)discover these three artists who, each in their own way, have profoundly influenced the history of art. Born from a collaboration with artistic director Jean-Baptiste Hardoin, the appointment for this sensory journey is set for from March 13 to June 28, 2026

Between art, history, and emotions

How about a delightful journey at the heart of the Renaissance in just 52 minutes? It’s the bold—and successful—challenge of the Atelier des Lumières' new immersive creation. More than just an artistic and historical immersion, this experience offers a deep dive into the intimacy, reflections, emotions, and confidences of these three major figures.

With the narration of Féodor Atkine guiding the way, visitors will find themselves face-to-face with the visionary genius of Leonardo da Vinci, the elegance and grace of Raphael, and the striking realism of Michelangelo’s sculptures. The spectacular combines with emotion and becomes meaningful. Innovation serves the purpose of sharing knowledge. The content and form come together to offer the audience a unique, refreshed, and decidedly contemporary vision of the Renaissance », explains Jean-Baptiste Hardoin.

Modern technologies to enhance the past

To bring this exceptional experience to life, history interacts with cutting-edge technologies. Digital twins, high-resolution scans, 3D modeling, graphic reconstructions… Advanced tools that allow to reveal unsuspected details in the artworks or even to recreate the volumes with unprecedented precision. In fact, for the very first time, the Atelier des Lumières will use physical atmospheric effects that will further enhance the immersion.

Combined with a scenography inspired by live shows, expertly crafted light games by Thomas Dechandon — a lighting designer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games — and a contemporary soundtrack blending tracks from Billie Eilish and even Rosalía, these technical marvels offer a complete, sensory, vibrant, and memorable experience.

« By taking advantage of contemporary technologies, [the experience] also reminds us that the history of art is a living knowledge and more essential than ever to understand the current world », says Florian Métral, art historian who contributed to writing the narrative of the experience.
