For a coffee, a sunny lunch, or drinks with friends, one thing's for sure, Parisians would never give up their terraces for anything in the world. Whether it's raining or windy, they’re settled on tables that are more or less cozy, often with a cigarette in hand, and always a drink at the ready. This phenomenon has captivated the photographer Manto, a Parisian by choice for the past six years, who dedicated his very first analog exhibition to the Parisian terraces. Mark your calendars for March 11 to discover these delightful snapshots at Poésie Coffee in the 11th.
Poésie Coffee, more than just a coffee shop
Both a coffee shop and a hub for artistic encounters, Poésie Coffee, located on the (very) quiet passage Thiéré for nearly a year, swings between matchas, exhibitions, and creative workshops. You can recharge in peace with a coffee, tea, or another sweet drink in hand, or indulge in some simple yet delicious homemade cuisine.
Scandinavian tartines, savory breads, and veggie buns waltz across the menu – featuring bread from Boulangerie Miemie on Rue Sedaine – alongside cookies and seasonal pastries waiting to be discovered right at the counter. But beyond satisfying our appetites, Poésie Coffee also nourishes our cultural cravings with literary and creative workshops, from bouquet making and latte art lessons to reading and writing spaces, and even a Matcha Comedy Club. All this, paired with temporary and free exhibitions.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
The photo exhibit that reveals the soul of Paris
For its new exhibition, Poésie Coffee is handing over its walls to photographer Manto for more than a month. And the subject is none other than one of the elements that brings Parisians together the most: the terraces. With The Parisian Terrasse Project – a three-year project during which the photographer roamed the streets of the capital for over 20 weekends – he presents a view that is as gentle as it is poetic on those that make the heart of the capital beat. Sometimes silent, sometimes vibrant, they come in all shapes, colors, and atmospheres. It's no wonder that the young artist, who arrived in Paris six years ago, has become passionate about these icons of the romantic city. With his film camera, he has captured purely Parisian urban scenes, where the terraces are undeniably part of the daily life of its inhabitants.
