A fantastic work takes hold of the July Column in September

After the revolutionaries in 1789, it's the turn of art to take the Bastille. And this time, it's not about invading a prison, but rather the famous column that graces the center of the square, easily recognizable among a thousand thanks to its golden genius. For one week, the French artist Aude Franjou will take over the monument with a spectacular work that is both delicate and poetic. A hypnotic sculpture worthy of this 15th edition of the Paris Design Week.


Kilometers of fabric

« Corals of Freedom.  This is the name of the monumental sculpture envisioned by Aude Franjou to adorn the July Column. From vaults to the top, there are meters and meters of fabric that...The flax fiber will be installed like enchanting tentacles, to fill the entire interior of the building dating back to 1835. An organic work resembling corals, suggesting the gradual regeneration of the marine animal.

This creation, celebrating the power of life, will be accessible every day from 1 PM to 6 PM, completely free of charge. However, to enjoy it, it is essential to reserve a time slot with the gallery responsible for the event, the Maison Parisienne. Once there, let your gaze flutter through the chromatic gradient of the artwork, from beige to red, like a powerful metaphor of resilience.


An event celebrating culture

But the adventure doesn’t stop there! During the 10 days of the Paris Design Week, many other monuments in the capital will also be taking part. In total, over 375 locations will participate.

this 15th edition, spread across 4 main areas: Palais Royal-Place des Victoires-Pigalle, Marais-Bastille-République, Opéra-Concorde-Étoile, and Rive Gauche.

Galleries, museums, showrooms, restaurants, and even hotels will all host exceptional artists and works themed around Regeneration, the theme of this 2025 edition. A symbolic theme.which shows that after 15 years of existence, Paris Design Week continues to reinvent itself year after year to be always in tune with the evolution of the design world.
