Get ready for a dive! Right now in Saint-Ouen, an ocean of paper is catching the eyes of passersby and curious visitors. And for good reason: the exhibition The Ocean of Léa is undoubtedly the largest origami installation the capital has ever seen. It’s an immersion into an aquatic world entirely made of paper, waiting to be discovered in a former 2,000 m2 ice rink.
Immersion in an Aquatic World
A tribute to the ocean and its hidden treasures, along with a heartfelt dedication to his daughter. With The Ocean of Léa, artist and origami master Junior Fritz Jacquet aims to transport us into a magical universe. An enchanting underwater world that features over 10 tons of paper, about 1,500 LED panels, and several hundred kilometers of electrical cables. After more than three months of intense assembly and folding, the artist unveiled this paper ocean to the public in early December, filling the 2,000 m2 of the former ice rink in Saint-Ouen, with a delightful spectacle.
Underwater grottos, corals, and wobbly jellyfish from the ceiling to the floor. An exploration that’s worth the detour.

A committed exhibition
More than just an artistic exhibition, Léa's Ocean showcases the artist's commitment. Each structure has been made from decommissioned paper, which was destined to be thrown away by factories. By using this material, Junior Fritz Jacquet promotes reuse and zero waste, highlighting ecological and sustainable materials. The exhibition aims to raise awareness and engage the public on ecological issues through its very structure, as well as through occasional charitable actions carried out in partnership with the City of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine and the Apprentis d'Auteuil Foundation.

What's the cherry on top? The exhibition, which was only supposed to last three months and end on February 28, has actually been extended due to its amazing success! The ocean of paper will only take its final bow in spring, on March 30th. So you still have a few lovely weeks to explore this universe that's as poetic as it is ecological!
