To kick off the Year of the Fire Horse – celebrated on February 17th – the coolest street in Paris is once again hosting its Lantern Festival on the weekend of February 21st and 22nd, featuring dazzling lantern displays, dragon dances, and street food stands galore!
Exciting Activities All Weekend Long
After a colorful parade on January 25th, Belleville Street continues the Lunar New Year celebrations in grand style. On Saturday, February 21st, and Sunday, February 22nd, the Belleville merchants' association invites Parisians to come and see glowing processions and a magnificent suspended dragon that will light up all of Belleville Street. Meanwhile, a festive program will keep the weekend lively, both in the street and on the main stage set up at the intersection of Belleville Street.
The event at Belleville and Boulevard de la Villette includes some wonderful activities! Expect to see traditional dragon and lion dances and Eng Go Bhu; there will be singing, dancing, and artistic performances; and also amazing Chinese acrobatics!```htmlSee this post on Instagram
A big open-air street food market
In addition to the animations and shows, the Lantern Festival promises to delight your taste buds with a huge festive market along the entire pedestrian street of Belleville, specially closed to traffic for the occasion. A myriad of stands featuring Asian street food awaits you! ```opens up a space filled with noodles of all kinds, steamed or grilled dumplings, sizzling skewers, and delightful pastries. The cherry on top? The market will also showcase craft stands, calligraphy, and bring together various associations from the Asian community in Paris.
