The Editor

While our identities multiply in the age of social networks and artificial intelligence infiltrates our society, it is sometimes hard to serenely grasp the complexity of the digital world. However, this is precisely what the International Biennial of Digital Arts of the Île-de-France region, named Nemo, aims to instill in its 5th edition. Copies, doubles, mutants, avatars, fake identities, metamorphoses... Let's explore the multiplicity of personalities through digital arts, in all their splendor. "I is another," is the theme of the Nemo Biennial, echoing the words that Arthur Rimbaud addressed to Paula Demi in a letter from the 15th of November, 1871.In 1981. Its main exhibition, presented at CENTREQUATRE-PARIS, offers a journey where interactive works and playful devices, films and installations follow one another, providing a critical and educational look at the digital era and its biases. Visitors can admire the life mural by Marco Brambilla and marvel at the interactive avatars of Universal Everything. A true journey through time, composed of three parts that go back in time: "Tomorrow is already written", "Archaeology of the present time", and "How did we get here?".

The calendar of partner locations for the event is also very enticing. Némo goes everywhere, from the Seine-Saint-Denis (93) to the Yvelines (78), passing by ENS Paris-Saclay, on the Esplanade de La Défense, and even at the  Maison des Arts de Creteil. It's impossible to describe all the shows and exhibits, there are so many; the best thing is to check out the program and make a list of your favorites.
