Divided into five seasons, this original creation by Canal + features Mathieu Kassovitz, Zined Triki, Sara Giraudeau, Florence Loiret Caille, and Jonathan Zaccaï. Although it aired starting from 2015 and ended in 2020, producer Alex Berger recently revealed at the International Audiovisual Content Market (Sica) on November 5th, that a sequel could soon be in the works.

A sequel in Africa
« We already have several scenarios, but for now, it remains a development project », shares Alex Berger, as reported by AFP. While The Bureau of Legends focused on French agents from the DGSE working undercover in Iran or Syria through this new series, the aim would be to follow French agents working under false identities on the African continent. « The events that took place in Niger, Burkina Faso, or Mali are things that interest us », emphasizes Alex Berger. The various coups that have occurred in these countries in recent years provide a working base.l for this project, which has been in development since 2021. The producer notes that he wanted to leave some space between the two series « to avoid simply slapping on a sequel ».
An American adaptation expected at the end of November
The impact of Bureau des Légendes is such that in the United States, an American adaptation in ten episodes will be aired starting at the end of November 2024. In The Agency, Michael Fassbender plays Martian, a CIA agent from the UK who must leave his life under “legend” to return to London. Created by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth and produced by George Clooney, it brings together big names like Richard Gere.
