Only a few months to wait before we can discover HBO's new flagship series: Harry Potter. After revealing much of the cast, the team members are starting to share some details about the content. And we warn you, some elements might surprise the fans.

The issue is that there are hoards of fans who know every character and every dialogue by heart, and they expect a perfectly faithful reproduction. The series, on the other hand, seems to have gone in the opposite direction by adding new storylines.

Similarly, some had criticized the costume choices based on the first images from the shoot, although they are much more faithful to the timeline of the books than the outfits chosen for the films. On the other hand, other announcements, like the return of Warwick Davis in the role of Professor Flitwick, were met with unanimous approval, not surprisingly since the character and his actor are beloved by Potterheads. However, the latest information could indeed divide the fans.


Surprising Choices

First of all, even though nothing has been confirmed yet, a rumor is floating around about the choice of the actor to play Lord Voldemort, and it might actually be… a female actress! Several names have been buzzing online to succeed the amazing Ralph Fiennes, including Tilda Swinton, Winona Ryder, and Cynthia Erivo. For now, the suspense is thick, and it might not be revealed until the final episodes of season 1.

In the same vein, if the producers have chosen to reintroduce some forgotten characters from the films, much to our delight, like Professor Binns, Peeves, or even Charlie Weasley, they have also decided to introduce actors earlier than expected. For instance, Lucius Malfoy, played by Johnny Flynn, will appear right from the first season, even though he normally shows up in The Chamber of Secrets. This early introduction is sure to deliver some intimate scenes within this complex family.
