So what did this simple « re » printed in white on black on all the posters in Paris metros last week mean? Fans of Bref, the short, self-contained chronicles of a depressed thirty-something Parisian aired between 2011 and 2012 on Le Grand Journal, quickly figured it out: the artistic direction, the typography—it could only be the re-turn of the series.
This was confirmed on February 1st by Kyan Khojandi, the creator and main actor of the show, alongside his longtime buddy Bruno Muschio. It's official: these two are back in the saddle for Bref.2, and they've released a tantalizing teaser to introduce the faces that will feature in the series – unsurprisingly, still the big names from the French comedy scene.
There are these posters in the subway. We're all in agreement that they're announcing the return of Bref, right?? pic.twitter.com/7MB1606ovv

« Everything Starts Up Again »
The adventure begins anew, with the same (or almost) characters, but ten years later. Kyan Khojandi's I is now 40 years old and still facing struggles. His ex-girlfriend (Doria Tillier) has left him. His new roommate (Laura Felpin, a newcomer) is a bit odd. His group of friends, still the same, has definitely changed: one of them (Bérengère Krief) is in a polyamorous relationship, another (Baptiste Lecaplain) just became a dad, and the last one (Mikaël Alhawi) is just plain annoying.
How did he get here? This second season, It's the perfect opportunity for the narrator to take stock of his life, complaining a lot, with a hearty dose of sarcasm, and a whole array of five-star guests to join him in his troubles – Jean-Paul Rouve, Alexandre Astier, Mister V, Mc Fly, Carlito, Jonathan Cohen, Noémie Lvovsky… In short, he sums it up by saying, “everything is starting over” at the end of the teaser.
From shortcom to sitcom
Same concept, but in a renewed format! While the first season of Bref left a mark with its rich quality as a shortcom – eighty-two episodes of less than three minutes and a particularly sharp format – it is reappearing as a sitcom for a new adventure…Get ready for some Disney+ fun! There will be 6 episodes, each lasting a delightful thirty minutes, available on the platform's catalog starting February 14th. Enjoy!
