Thirteen years after its explosive release in theaters, one of the works that has left a lasting mark on 2010s pop culture is getting ready to resurface. If I mention thriller, provocation, heist, and Disney Channel, you’ll think of Spring Breakers, and you’re absolutely right: it’s the film by Harmony Korine, often called "the enfant terrible of American cinema", that will be getting a sequel. However, the director is stepping back and handing over the reins to Matthew Bright, 72, who has been absent since Tiny Tiptoes (2003). He'll have the tough job of continuing a generational classic without betraying the sultry and trashy DNA that made it successful.

At the helm of the project are the producers of the original version, Chris Hanley and Jordan Gertner. They seem to have always had the idea in mind: « We have never strayed from our desire to see Spring Break lasting forever », they declared to Variety. The global sales of the film are said to have started this week, and in France, on the Croisette, as noted by the American media.
