Second prequel about a unique character
He is one of the winners from district 12, his stride is casual and he has the annoying habit of finishing off bottles at any Capitol event: Haymitch Abernathy, the tortured mentor of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in the 74th and 75th Hunger Games, will likely be at the center of this prequel.
The book will take place 24 years before the original story released in 2008, during the 50th Games, a Quarter Quell edition - every twenty-five games, the president of Panem chooses a card from a box created during the original creation of the Hunger Games, determining a change in the rules. Described in Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the second book, the most diehard fans already know the surface details of the events: at just 16 years old, Haymitch manages to exploit the arena's weaknesses to win the game.
It seems like Suzanne Collins wants to delve deeper into this key, provocative victory, with many consequences.

Exciting Revelations about the World of Hunger Games
As a major dystopia of the decade, reflecting the vices of our time (deliberate maintenance of poverty, creation of fear, reflection on the cost of rebellion), Suzanne Collins will once again pose "important questions about our own world," said Ellie Berger, president of her publishing house, in a statement. "Sunrise on the Reaping is a remarkable book, bringing a new complexity, a new perspective, and new revelations to a part of the Hunger Games story that readers have long wanted to know more about."
However, there was no indication that the saga would continue after its first prequel. In 2020, Suzanne Collins released The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which opened a new chapter in the Hunger Games universe.
, a leap of 64 years into the past on the youth of Coriolanus Snow, who would become the iconic dictator of Panem. Another success for the author, adapted to the big screen in November 2023 with Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), Tom Blyth (Billy the Kid), and more.e Kid), Viola Davis (Murder), and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones). Haymitch's cinematic prequel will be released three years later, on November 20, 2026. No indication yet on the actor who will portray him: in any case, Woody Harrelson, who is celebrating his 62nd birthday this year, will certainly need a rejuvenating touch if he were to be cast again.Hey there!
