A trip to the land of the Fairy of the Djinns, sounds good to you? All you need to do is grab tickets for the new film-concert planned in the largest movie theater in the world, located at the Grand Rex. After The Chorus and Back to the Future, we dive into the universe of Azur and Asmar with this institution of the seventh art.
Far from a simple screening, the film will be revealed in a unique film-concert, featuring the grandiose music of composer Gabriel Yared, who will be present for the occasion, accompanied by Souad Messi, who will sing the Song of Azur and Asmar live.

Brotherhood and Magic
The creator of the unforgettable Kirikou trilogy, Michel Ocelot, presents a new masterpiece of animation with Azur et Asmar (2006) that has marked an entire generation. Inspired by the Tales of the Thousand and One Nights, Azur et Asmar tackles social themes such as social inequalities and the discovery of foreign cultures through the story of two foster brothers - Azur, the blond with blue eyes, and Asmar, the dark-haired with black eyes - raised by the same woman in a lush and blooming land. Torn apart by life as their childhood ends, both are driven by a desire to find the Djinn Fairy and embark on an epic journey filled with valuable lessons that will reunite them.

Music and Synchronized Images
So, under the direction of Nicolas Simon, the Yellow Socks Orchestra will perform live the original score by Gabriel Yared - specially rearranged by Robin Melchior for this format - in perfect synchronization with the film projected on the big screen. They will be joined on stage by soloists Mohamed Najem on the Ney flute and Yousef Zayed on the Oud.
An Azur et Asmar film concert is already scheduled at L'Auditorium de La Seine Musicale in December, and will kick off a French tour in spring 2025: the excitement for this kind of event just keeps growing! More such events will be popping up around the capital next year: from January 17 to 19, 2025, the Palais des Congrès in Paris will host Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. On September 27, 2025, Avatar will also get its share of the spotlight.
