Here we are, it's 2026, which means we only have a year left to wait before we get to see the first images of the Harry Potter series produced by HBO. To help us pass the time, announcements keep pouring in, much to our delight. And after revealing a big part of the cast, the production has just unveiled the genius chosen to compose the music for the series.

It took broad shoulders to succeed John Williams (the absolute master of film music), Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper, and Alexandre Desplat, four talented composers who brought us the absolutely spectacular scores of the 8 original films. And let's just say that HBO didn't hold back in filling those big shoes. Indeed, it is none other than the living legend Hans Zimmer who will be composing the soundtrack for the eagerly awaited series.


A Master of Film Music

We all remember the iconic theme of Harry Potter. The music evokes matches of quidditch. Or the epic soundtrack of the battle of Hogwarts. And we won't lie to you; as true Potterheads, we're absolutely thrilled!rong> we were a bit afraid of having to say goodbye to these masterpieces during the series viewing. However, when we heard the name of the composer who would bear this heavy responsibility, we were immediately reassured.

It's safe to say that we’ve lost count of the successes that Hans Zimmer has to his name. The Lion King, Interstellar, Gladiator, Dune, Dunkirk, The Holiday, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman, Pearl Harbor, and even Kung Fu Panda. Since the beginning of his career in the 80s, he has amassed a remarkable portfolio, exploring all styles with the same passion and talent. And we have no doubt that he will once again deliver an unforgettable experience.


A whole bunch of big names

So, Hans Zimmer joins an incredible team, featuring many other renowned artists.John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid), Johnny Flynn (Lucius Malfoy), Bel Powley (Petunia Dursley) and also Warwick Davies, who will reprise his iconic role as Professor Flitwick, much to the delight of fans. These talented actors, with already impressive careers, will take on the important role of guiding the young talents recruited to portray the characters.cute; Hogwarts students, especially the Golden Trio: Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), and Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley). One thing is for sure, no matter how they perform, the music is guaranteed to match the excitement of the project!
