The big event dedicated to contemporary practices of moving images is back in Paris! Since 1997, the Paris/Berlin International Meetings have offered a multidisciplinary approach to support contemporary creation in cinema, video, and multimedia. This year, over 142 works from 52 countries will be presented to the public, most of them for the first time, through a rich and innovative program.
For this special occasion, several iconic locations in Paris, including the Jeu de Paume, the Fiminco Foundation, CWB Paris, and the Museum of Hunting and Nature, will invite artists to showcase their works. The Gaîté Lyrique and the Forum des Images will also be part of the fun.

Emerging Artists & Renowned Filmmakers
Thanks to meticulous research, more than 5,500 works have been received, the Paris/Berlin International Encounters bring together established international artists and emerging young talents who are still underrepresented in a single program. Among the names, you’ll recognize Simon(e) Jaikiriuma Paetau, Masbedo, Damir Ocko, and Clemens von Wedemeyer, special guests of the 2023 season.
Far from being just a series of screenings, these meetings feature a variety of events, such as retrospectives, carte blanches, VR programming, forums, and round tables. Designed as a space for exploration and reflection, the Paris/Berlin International Encounters are completely free and offer all audiences – professionals, enthusiasts, and novices – an exceptional opportunity to dive into the world of audiovisual creation.

A Diverse Program
Like every year, the International Meetings Paris/Berlin highlight artists who question society through new audiovisual forms. The program will pay tribute to the artist duo Maria Klonaris and Katerina Thomadaki: two special screenings will showcase the impact of their research.about performance and expanded cinema.
This event will also be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the third edition of the Moving Image Art award. A grant will be awarded by an international jury to one of the works presented during the event. In 2023, the prize was given to Devadeep Gupta for the work Normalization of a Disaster. After Paris, the Paris/Berlin International Meetings will take place in Berlin in March 2025.
