Almost 4 years ago now, the HBO platform revolutionized the world of Potterheads by announcing the production of a brand new series centered around the most famous bespectacled wizard in the world. And after giving us chills with the announcement of the casting members and making us dream with the first glimpses of the filming, this exciting new project finally reveals itself thanks to a trailer that not only transports us once again to Hogwarts, but also brings us a release date… or almost!

A first glimpse into this magical world

This will surely be the most viewed video in the coming days. On Wednesday, March 25th, HBO unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter series, instantly immersing us in this magical universe.

For a few minutes, the trailer lets us discover the exceptional cast (especially on the adult actors ), the costumes and new sets designed to reinvent this world after the 8 films, and also to discover the first notes of the exclusive music composed by Hans Zimmer.

If the video opens with Harry's tragic life in the Muggle world, showcasing the terrible behavior of the Dursleys (which is mostly downplayed in the movies), the resulting bullying, and his life in a cupboard under the stairs, it quickly immerses us into the impressive and majestic world of Hogwarts Castle. With huge classrooms, trees growing in the walls, and an 80s aesthetic, one thing is certain, nothing has been left to chance.

Details that shouldn't be overlooked

But what will most likely fill fans' hearts with joy are all the little details that hint at what's to come. So, even if Harry's childhood at his aunt and uncle’s is completely left unspoken,...In the movies, she will undoubtedly be shown here, including the first accidental uses of magic by the young wizard. Similarly, a shot of a classroom hints at the presence of Professor Binns in season 1, Hogwarts' only ghost teacher, who was also neglected by the 8 installments produced by Warner. A more significant focus should also be given to Quidditch, and that makes us joyful! In any case, it’s now official; we’ll have to wait until Christmas 2026, which will be the 25th anniversary of the first film’s release, to discover all of this, and we’re already way too excited!
