A swashbuckling film to captivate the youth
Since 2019, high school seniors all over France have had their own voice in the prestigious César ceremony. Inspired by the Goncourt des lycéens, this award is given by a jury of 2,600 students from 118 high schools.
<This year, they watched and discussed, in the presence of their teachers, the five films nominated for the César Award for Best Film: The Count of Monte Cristo, as well as Emilia Pérez, the triumphant musical comedy by Jacques Audiard, the social comedy In Fanfare, the heart-wrenching Story of Souleymane, and finally the thought-provoking Mercy… They were particularly moved by the fate of Edmond Dantès! A lovely consolation for the film team, who arrived at the Olympia confidently with 14 nominations, leaving with only technical awards (Best Costumes, Best Sets). "The reception of the film is and will always be our greatest reward for life”, thanked Pierre Niney on his social media the day after the ceremony.
