Looking for the perfect spot to escape the sweltering heat of summer? In a cinema, of course! And it's perfect timing, because from June 28 to July 1, 2026, the Cinema Festival is coming to the big screens across France. What does that mean? Four days of celebration, four days of cinema, and four days to enjoy without breaking the bank!

Movies for the Whole Family

For four days, tickets at all participating cinemas are a flat rate of 5 €. That's right—it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy one or more movie sessions, whether solo, with family, or friends. And among the feature films you won't want to miss, you can catch Toy Story 5, Supergirl, Shana — selected for the Cannes Directors' Fortnight —, Le Vertige — the new film by Quentin Dupieux, also selected for the Cannes Directors' Fortnight — or the documentary André is an Idiot — featuring the voice of Kyan Khojandi.

Over 40 Years of History

The Cinema Festival is a long-standing tradition. Created on June 14, 1985 by the Ministry of Culture, the National Federation of French Cinemas, and other industry professionals, this festival allowed participants to purchase a passport bookletfor the price of a movie ticket, which they could then reuse all day, allowing them to benefit from a special rate of 1 franc per screening” (equivalent to 15 cents today), explains the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC). The first edition was such a success that the event has continued over the years, evolving in its format and making cinema a central element of French cultural life
