The Editor

We announced it a few weeks ago, the clumsiest single lady in all of London is coming back to the big screen soon for a fourth installment. And between the release date and the cast, we finally have some tangible info to share with you, loyal readers.

Exit Colin Firth, (re)bonjour Hugh Grant

Great news and a bit of a disappointment for fans at the same time, as we have some exciting updates on the cast of the film. While some beloved actors are no longer part of the project, others are making a grand return. So, it's official - Colin Firth will not be joining this amazing project, as in this new chapter, Mr. Darcy is unfortunately... no longer with us! A decision made to stick to the storyline of the books, where Bridget's husband meets a tragic end in Sudan. And it looks like Patrick Dempsey won't be returning for this 4th film either.

But on the bright side, we can rejoice in the comeback of Hugh Grant, aka Daniel Cleaver, whose unexpected return we were hinted at in the end of the third movie. Despite not wanting to be part of that one due to script disagreements, it seems like he's back now for more fun on the big screen!

That’s right, his presence is confirmed this time. We will also see Emma Thompson in the role of Doctor Rawlings, the obstetrician of our neurotic blonde, who had already made a quite remarkable appearance in the 3rd installment.

Some new faces

This new film will also be an opportunity to discover new characters, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, and especially Leo Woodall, who many have just recently discovered in the amazing Netflix series One Day. It's highly possible that the latter will be none other than the new love interest of our heroine, as Mad About The Boy will focus on the budding relationship between our chain-smoking, big knickers-wearing woman and a younger man. What great news.

So, we will see Bridget back in theaters on February 14, 2025 , with filming set to begin in May. 4 years after the events...In the upcoming film, we will follow the 51-year-old single mother's escapades, with two kids to take care of. And for the first time, a man will be directing a film in the saga, Michael Morris ( .

He will be the one in charge now, following in the footsteps of Sharon Maguire (who directed the 1st and 3rd installments) and Beeban Kidron. He is the brains behind Better Call Saul, so get ready for some amazing stuff!
