Maybe they’re already in your library, or maybe there’s still time to dive into their pages. In 2025, many literary works will see their stories jump from the pages to the big screens. So, whether you want to get familiar with these tales, compare the original to its adaptation, or simply let your imagination flow through the lines before getting swept away by the images, we’ve picked out five books to devour before their big-screen adaptations.
Queer, by William S. Burroughs
Lee is a writer wandering aimlessly, both in life and through the gay bars of Mexico in the 1950s. His world turns upside down the day he meets a certain Allerton, to whom he becomes unwaveringly devoted. As the relationship between the two men unfolds, it proves to be quite unique and complex.
Complex and rich, the arrival of this man will allow Lee to rediscover feelings he had buried. Luca Guadagnino, director of Call Me By Your Name and Challengers, takes on the rich and intricate work of William S. Burroughs, presenting us with a stylish film featuring Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey on screen.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
