Oppenheimer is the biopic of the year 2023, a visual and technical masterpiece that, despite the lack of special effects, managed to depict an atomic bomb; the one dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, developed by Robert J. Oppenheimer, head of the Manhattan project. The performances by Cilian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Robert Downey Jr. are outstanding, as well as the original soundtrack by composer Ludwig Göransson... With its impressive 377 nominations in various ceremonies worldwide, Oppenheimer is already, just nine months after its release, a classic of the 7th art.

The Maiden and the Dragon

The Maiden and the Dragon is available on March 8th, International Women's Rights Day. A happy coincidence or symbolic gesture? Will this film be full of rebellious and independent female characters? It certainly seems so. Presented as a reimagined fairy tale, it follows the story of Elodie, about to marry a prince charming who turns out to be a dragon. Trapped by the royal family, she must rely on her ingenuity and courage to escape her sacrifice. A dark and fantastical journey with a big budget, a way for the platform to reaffirm its taste for large-scale film productions, as well as series.

Our Scandinavian neighbors always seem to win the happiness race, and their series never fail to contribute to ours. After Young Royals...SKAM Norway.Another Nordic production that made a big splash was Young Royals. This time from Sweden and produced by Netflix, it also focuses on adolescence and first loves, with the slight twist (but not really) that it features two men in love in the kingdom of Sweden (the country being a constitutional monarchy). In Young Royals, Wilhelm is destined to become a king, but starts a relationship with Simon, a scholarship student from their boarding school. This leads to three intense seasons during which Wilhelm oscillates between feeling and duty, three seasons with the last one coming out mid-March, after an intense cliffhanger...
