This ambitious project, which will include 18 stations (14 of which are brand new), will connect these communities in just 23 minutes with trains running every eight minutes. It's designed to make travel along the coast and to key sites like the international airport, Cap 3000 shopping center, and Allianz Riviera stadium much easier.
The initial budget, estimated at 285 million euros, might be reevaluated upwards due to the economic situation. Delays are attributed to budget constraints related to other priorities, as explained by Le Figaro (storms Alex and Aline, COVID-19 crisis). The work will begin with the demolition of an unused building in Saint-Laurent-du-Var to build a park-and-ride facility with 285 spaces.
A 285 Million Euro Project
A first section with three stops, planned for 2026, could be operational by 2028. The line is expected to serve around 40,000 daily users, with trains similar to those on existing lines, capable of transporting...up to 300 passengers. Despite the delays, local elected officials reaffirm their commitment to this important project.
