The residents of Nice are the happiest workers in France according to a survey

In this survey conducted among 2,000 workers over 18, representing 24 different sectors, one fact stands out: 63% of Nice residents say they are completely fulfilled in their jobs. That’s more than anywhere else in France, with Reims in second place at 55%, followed by Rennes and Montpellier at 54%. On the Côte d'Azur, work is clearly not just a way to earn a living: it’s a lifestyle.

You might think this is just marketing talk, but the numbers speak for themselves: six out of ten Niçois claim they are in their dream jobs. In other words, in the Bay of Angels, the majority are not daydreaming about last-minute career changes or fleeing to greener (or more urban) pastures. On the contrary, many are just as happy where they are!

Nice, the pro paradise of the French Riviera

No doubt about it: the azure sweetness has some serious side effects on the morale of the troops. Only 20% of Niçois consider moving to another region or expatriating, a number that's almost unheard of!e;risoire at the time when professional mobility reigns supreme. While others dream of being digital nomads, the people of Nice prefer after-work gatherings by the seaside.

This survey reinforces the data from the Enterritoires barometer published in early 2025, which already pointed out Nice as one of the most attractive cities for French employees. Conversely, in Marseille, half of the surveyed workers expressed readiness to leave the city for better opportunities. On the map of professional happiness, the direction is clear: head east, between beach, work, and dolce vita.
