The Editor

By the end of 2025, 265 spots will be available in this new open-air parking lot named “Tzarewich.” Three levels, entrance from Gambetta, and exit on Cluvier Street: it’s clearly a well-thought-out project designed to seamlessly fit into the urban landscape. Among these spots, 53 will be equipped with electric charging stations, and 9 will be reserved for people with reduced mobility. The deadline? Before December 31, 2025, according to the team at Actu Nice. A construction site visit already took place on October 9, so this is no vague project; it’s tangible!

The goal: to ease the neighborhood and smooth out traffic

According to the municipality, this parking lot aims to relieve the neighborhood of vehicles coming from the hills, redirecting traffic towards public transport (tram, bus), and easing the densely populated center of Nice. There’s also talk of a ticket “validated by a transport ticket,”un” to encourage intermodality. Basically, you leave your car, and you take the tram or bus for the rest of the journey.  Another detail : the “evening & weekend” subscription will be accessible to local residents. A great initiative for those who live in the center every day.

How this will change things for you

If you're a Nice resident or just passing through, this new parking facility might just save the day. No more circling the blocks looking for a free spot (we all know that stress). A little bonus : charging stations for electric cars modernize the setup. As for practical info (pricing, opening hours, and the conditions of the famous ticket + transport...), we'll have to wait a little longer. But one thing is for sure : if everything goes smoothly, this parking could quickly become the go-to solution for parking your car without breaking the bank or spending all day searching!
