Drivers in Nice quickly spotted it... sometimes a little too late. This Tuesday, a brand new mobile radar was installed on the very busy Promenade des Anglais, specifically at number 77, in the direction of the city center/airport, according to information from Actu Nice. And let's just say it's not there to stand around: it's already flashing left and right. The Alpes-Maritimes prefecture, contacted by our colleagues at Actu Nice, confirmed the immediate operation of the device. The goal: to bring some calm to this iconic stretch of the Côte d’Azur, sadly known for its speeding and repeated accidents.

Already 4 radars installed on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice

This radar is not the only one.

did just like the others. It's a mobile and temporary construction radar, set up while we wait for the long-promised fixed radars from Mayor Christian Estrosi. For several months now, he has been in a real tug of war with the State to secure the main roads of the city. Seven fixed radars have been announced in the city center, including four just along the promenade. While we wait for their arrival, the mobile radar will be on duty and can be relocated at any time. In short, there's no chance of memorizing its position and dodging it by weaving around: it moves too!

Just a reminder, the speed limit is set to 50 km/h on this road, a detail that some still seem to have a hard time accepting. So here’s a little tip for those who want to avoid an unpleasant surprise in their mailbox: slow down a bit. Because on the Prom’, it’s no longer the sun that’s shining down, it’s the radar.
