When the sun is shining and the call of diving beckons on the Côte d'Azur, a report comes in to cool things down just a bit. The association Eau et Rivières de Bretagne has just released its study "La Belle plage", evaluating the quality of bathing waters all over France, especially in Nice, as explained by Actu Nice. Spoiler alert: not all Nice beaches are created equal when it comes to taking a dip!
Two Nice Beaches to Avoid
Two beaches are grabbing the dubious honor of must-avoid spots: Bains Militaires beach, tucked away near the port, and Centenaire beach, right in front of the Quai des États-Unis. Not exactly the postcard-perfect image we love to sell… And if you were thinking of heading to other swimming spots, don’t jump for joy just yet: Coco Beach, La Réser.
be, Castel, and Beau Rivage are also among the "not recommended" beaches. It seems like sipping a Spritz on the pebbles might be a better option than dipping a toe in the water.See this post on Instagram
