Hello there!a handful of enthusiasts is fighting to ensure that the buses and coaches of yesteryear don’t fade into oblivion. The Tram and Bus Association of the Côte d’Azur has a clear mission: to save, restore, and bring these witnesses of an era when traveling meant plush seats and shiny bodies back to life. These vehicles, which crisscrossed the Côte d’Azur for decades, are today enjoying a second youth thanks to this diligent work.

Restoration, exhibition, and keeping them on the road: this is the trio that guides the association. You can spot them at events like the European Heritage Days in Nice, where it's possible to hop on board for a timeless journey. Each outing is like a time machine, a wink to the generations who experienced these rides along the Mediterranean.

A legendary bus waiting for a revival

Among the masterful pieces, a Chausson bus from the 50s is waiting for its moment of glory. Acquired four years ago, it has already received a brand new mechanical heart. But the bodywork is in need of a serious makeover. Rust, wear, and peeling paint: it will take 27,000 euros to restore its former shine and let it sparkle once again on the Riviera.

Behind this call for donations, there’s a whole collective memory that wants to be saved. Through the Heritage Foundation, local residents, lovers of the Côte, and nostalgic folks are invited to join in. Restoring a bus isn’t just about fixing an old engine: it’s about preserving life stories, the landscapes seen through the windows, and the spirit of an era where every journey was sprinkled with a hint of adventure.
