The verdict is in. For this 5th edition, the association Villes & Villages has established its list of cities where it's good to live in France.

Nice still in the top cities where it's good to live

While it seems that the big cities of France are falling in the rankings (Paris drops to the 103rd place, Lyon lands at the 80th position, and Marseille keeps moving further away year by year to settle in the 135th place), in Nice, we're doing things properly because we haven't even budged an inch! Our beautiful metropolis boasts a large number of green spaces, in fact, it is the greenest city in France, it is also one of the least stressful cities in the WORLD. On an international level, it is even one of the most bike-friendly cities! In short, so many advantages that, combined with the sun and the sea, make Nice the 13th best city in France.

Note that she rises to 7th place when only looking at the 40 major metropolises.

On the podium, Angers, Bayonne, and Biarritz stood out among the 34,808 French municipalities. Alongside them, Anglet, Annecy, and Lorient also dominate the top 10.

Criteria with particularly strict judgments

In total, 187 criteria divided into 11 categories allow for the establishment of the final ranking. These include quality of life, safety, environmental protection, health, shops and services, transportation, education, sports and leisure, finances and local taxes, solidarity, and real estate attractiveness.
