Sometimes, life has some surprises in store for you. Like that day when the three owners of Cabanon casually ran into the former restaurateur who used to run that little beach bar in Roquebrune. Cabanon is just that—a beautiful encounter, a hidden spot, a love at first sight for a place filled with history... and bam, just like that, the dream beach restaurant!
At the few tables inside the renovated hut or on the terrace surrounded by banana trees, you can sip a prosecco during aperitivo hour or sit down to enjoy a lovely Mediterranean plate. All of this takes place in a beautifully wild spot that’s rare to find in our area.
While the hut still evokes the simplicity of a fishing return, the menu has been jazzed up with an Italian flair that adds a friendly vibe to this peaceful haven. Sylvio, in the kitchen, and his wife Rosanna, serving, treat us to warm octopus, spaghetti vongole, gnoccheti with prawns, and a Mediterranean fritto misto.
The perks of Bonbon: to impress your friends, you can share at the table that Le Corbusier, whose cabanon you won't want to miss a little further along the customs path, was one of the first to dine here many years ago. And before you settle the bill (which is quite reasonable for such an exclusive spot), be sure to say hello to the fish that the former owner had installed in the little freshwater pool tucked under the terrace...
