Get ready to vibe to the rhythm of the African continent, and it's going to make some noise (the good kind, with drums, laughter, and passionate discussions). The One Africafest is back for its second colorful edition on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Frigo 16. And if you've never heard of this festival, it's time to come out of your cave: it’s free, open to everyone, and one of the most feel-good events of the Nice spring.
Africa comes to Nice for two days of celebration
Hosted by the ALAID association, the festival puts Africa in the spotlight in every way: fashion, gastronomy, live music, traditional dances, and so much more. All in a joyful, family-friendly, and wonderfully inclusive atmosphere. People come to taste dishes that take their taste buds on a journey, applaud dazzling fashion shows, dance to enchanting rhythms, but also to listen, debate, and open their minds. Because yes, Africa does not just...te;sume pas à ses richesses culturelles: she thinks, she creates, she inspires. This is the entire challenge of the planned conferences and round tables, with dedicated speakers coming to discuss equality, art, entrepreneurship, and transmission.
And since culture knows no borders, Portugal is the special guest this year at the European Union stand, with cross animations, live painting, and a few surprises with a Portuguese twist. Festive bonus: the trophy for the Africa Cup of Associations will be awarded in grand style during the festival, mixing sports and cohesion in a beautiful communion. In short, a burst of sunshine, meaning, and sharing right in the heart of Nice. Shall we go?
