Oh Nantes... Its castle of the Dukes of Brittany, its Machines, its botanical garden... All year round, the capital of the Pays de la Loire region attracts thousands of visitors in search of the most beautiful places to discover. And you may be one of them! Luckily, le Bonbon is always here to show you the best deals, all over France. We have selected our 3 favorite spots to enjoy the city of the Dukes like a true Nantes resident, just a stone's throw away from your Mercure Nantes Centre Passage Pommeraye hotel.

Our favorite spots in Nantes

Le Lieu Unique

As its name suggests, Le Lieu Unique is absolutely... unique. Located in the former LU factory, this center is a creative hub for artists from all disciplines. The place offers...This unique place welcomes a theater, exhibitions, a lounge where various workshops and works of all kinds come together, a restaurant, a bar, a hammam, and much more... In short, a real place of artistic exploration and cultural excitement that mixes genres, cultures, and all audiences. We recommend you to climb up the LU tower to discover the history of the place since its creation in the 19th century.

Talensac Market

Established in 1937, Talensac Market is the oldest and largest in Nantes, making it a true institution of the city of Dukes. We are fans of its amazing fish and seafood stalls, but also of its numerous small counters where you can taste the best of Nantes' local products. If you look up, you can also discover about ten automatons inspired by the world created by Gavin Pryke, as a nod to Nantes' famous machines.

Bubar

You can't leave Nantes without visiting one of the city's craft breweries, which are part of Nantes' heritage and know-how. So let's head to Bubar, a brew pub located in the heart of the Republic district, where beers are handcrafted, unfiltered and unpasteurized. The owner, Stéphane, is passionate and welcomes you to his microbrewery where you can see the fermenters before heading to the bar to taste your chosen hops. Good music, concerts and darts are also part of the experience... In short, a place that is both cheerful, quirky, and above all, so welcoming!
