The Editor

True cooking enthusiast, Lucie worked for a few years in the marketing/communication field in Paris before deciding she could turn her passion into a career. That's exactly what she did by enrolling in a culinary arts and restaurant management bachelor's program at the Bocuse Institute in Lyon. She then gained experience in Burgundy with Luc Filoé, as well as in Marseille with Gérald Passédat and Alexandre Mazzia.lucie

With all her experiences and back in Nantes after a happy event, it was time for her to move to the next step: opening a restaurant that reflects her. That's how Sépia was born and opened its doors a week ago, on Tuesday, July 2nd. You will be welcomed in a bright room with a mix of modern furniture and charming stone walls. And now that summer is here, we also recommend Sépia's terrace, well exposed and with large umbrellas for some refreshing shade. Enjoy!sepia nantes

An inspired cuisine that follows the seasons

At Sépia, Lucie offers you a market cuisine that respects the seasons. You can have lunch from Tuesday to Friday and dine from Thursday to Saturday. Each week, a different menu is offered that evolves with the seasons, featuring recipes that blend local products with Mediterranean flavors. To keep it simple, at Sépia, we value good products that are all local (except for sugar and chocolate), and mostly organic.

No extensive menu at Sépia but a short menu and a daily menu with 1 starter, 2 main courses, and 2 desserts to choose from. You will need to budget €17 for starter/main course or main course/dessert and €21 for the complete menu which is excellent value for money. For dinner, it will be €27 or €34, or a la carte for lighter appetites.

Lucie wants to aim for zero waste as much as possible and has set up a sustainable sourcing system with producers, carefully calculating portion sizes. And if you can't finish your plate, feel free to ask for your "gourmet bag" (sounds much more appealing than a doggy bag, right?).

At Sépia, we brunch all weekend long!

Because there's no reason to brunch only on Sundays, Lucie invites you to brunch at Sépia on Saturday and Sunday at midday. For 26 euros, here's what you'll enjoy: warm plate with bacon, scrambled eggs, French toast (with black bread) and smoked salmon, bread bar with a selection of breads (traditional, seeded, fruit and seed breads, whole wheat, 90% spelt bread), organic jams, fruit baskets, organic juice from Nantes hillsides, and homemade muesli.

Coming soon: 4 hands dinners

Starting in September, Lucie will be organizing 4 hands dinners with invited chefs or local producers. These pop-up dinners are expected to take place every other Saturday. The goal of these dinners? To highlight creativity and local produce, and of course, to enjoy delicious food. To stay updated on the organization of these dinners, we recommend following Sépia on Facebook.
