The Editor

At the heart of this project is Marion Alexandre, who embarked on this journey inspired by the lack of a feminist space in Nantes. Over time, she gathered a group of seven determined women, aged 22 to 44, forming the core of the project. Among them, Nymphéa Boureau is in charge of programming events.

A Rich and Engaging Program

Les Impertinant.es offers a variety of events: concerts, theater, debate evenings, meetings with authors, film screenings, and workshops on topics like parenting. “The goal is to give visibility to marginalized people, meaning those who face discrimination related to their gender,” explains Nymphéa Boureau.

An open space for everyone

In line with its values, the café has chosen not to include cisgender men (individuals born male and identifying as such) in its power spaces, whether behind the bar, on stage, or in decision-making roles. This approach aims to uplift the voices of women and trans or non-binary individuals in an environment where they feel safe and heard. Gentlemen, you are also welcome if you wish to learn and engage with feminist issues.

By blending friendliness with activism, Les Impertinant.es is set to become a key spot on the feminist scene in Nantes, providing a space for expression, solidarity, and dialogue for all marginalized individuals in the city.
