Immersion in the Heart of Pesto

The event, completely free and open to everyone, is designed to be both friendly and immersive. You will discover pesto in a whole new way, thanks to a journey that reveals its secrets of creation, from basil to plate, awakening all your senses. The goal? To show that a simple jar of pesto can hold a true story of craftsmanship, heritage, and passion.
Among the highlights, tasting will of course take center stage. Locals in Nantes will have the chance to savor Barilla's range of pesto, featuring the latest creation from the brand: Pesto Basilico e Mozzarella di Bufala Campana AOP, a recipe that combines the freshness of basil with the creaminess of buffalo mozzarella, a star product of Italian gastronomy.

A Masterclass by Julien Sebbag

As the cherry (or rather, basil leaf) on top, Chef Julien Sebbag, renowned for his creativity and bold pairings, will host an exclusive masterclass. On this occasion, he will be reinventing an iconic recipe from the Nantes region, enhanced with an Italian twist. A culinary encounter that promises delightful surprises and perfectly embodies the concept of the Basilic Bar: where Italian gastronomy meets French flavors.

Four Days of Sharing and Discoveries

From Wednesday to Saturday, from 11 AM to 8 PM, Place du Commerce will transform into a charming little Italian village for a limited time. On the agenda: activities, tastings, chats with cooking enthusiasts, and of course, plenty of inspiration to give a new twist to your everyday recipes. All this in a friendly atmosphere that reflects the Italian art of living—generous, simple, and warm.
