A Last-Minute Change of Scene

Why this change? Nantes Métropole explains that the "current social context" wasn't conducive to a peaceful setup in Place Graslin, a location frequently crossed by demonstrations. So, the choice of Cours Cambronne was made to ensure "the best possible conditions for safety and staging." The result: a greener, quieter setting that will offer a fresh way to admire this metal giant.

Zeus, a 100% Nantes creation

This monumental horse is no ordinary horse. Designed by Atelier Blam, led by Nantes native Aurélien Meyer, Zeus captured the collective imagination during the Paris 2024 Olympics. It's actually the same studio that created the Olympic flame cauldron. After parading in Lyon, Paris, and even at Mont-Saint-Michel, Zeus is now making a triumphant return to its hometown of Nantes. How wonderful is that!

A spectacle in motion

The installation is not just for admiration. Zeus will be showcased on the trimaran that previously accompanied it during its crossing of the Seine at the Olympics. And the cherry on top? The horse won't be standing still. Every three minutes, it will come to life for a whole minute, right before the eyes of onlookers. Its movements will breathe life into this steel masterpiece, making the experience even more striking.
For those looking to plan their visit, time slots are available.ute;jà fixés : the animation will be visible every day from 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

A photo exhibition to dive into the behind-the-scenes

Near the sculpture, a photographic exhibition will trace the creation of the project. How was Zeus born? What steps were necessary to transform this idea into a several-meter-high metal horse? The Atelier Blam will unveil the behind-the-scenes of this incredible artistic and technical adventure.

So, are you ready to meet Zeus? Join us at cours Cambronne, from September 19 to 28, to admire this extraordinary work that connects the spirit of the Games, the heritage of Nantes, and the magic of contemporary art.
