A Unique Experience on a Bike
The Vélotour is not a race; it’s a friendly and family adventure that allows you to discover the city in a different way. The concept is simple: open the doors of places usually closed to cyclists and turn them into a playground for a day. And this year’s program looks particularly enticing.
You’ll have the chance to ride through iconic sites like the Stade de la Beaujoire, usually reserved for the FC Nantes football players. But that’s not all! The settings of Angers Nantes Opéra and the backstage of the Naolib tramway’s technical and operational centers will also be highlight stops on the route. Nine other surprising locations will be waiting to be discovered, carefully selected to amaze both young and old.
Two Loops for All Levels
The starting point is at the Petit Port park, where the “vélotoureux,” as we fondly call the participants, will gather. Two routes are offered this year:
*The bo...Main loop of 19 km : it will guide you through the UFR STAPS – Nantes University, the Port-Barbe open-air space – Accoord, and the Babinière Technical and Operations Center. The highlight will undoubtedly be the crossing of the Beaujoire Stadium, promised to be the showstopper.
*Optional loop of 2 km : shorter and designed for families and the younger ones. This mini-course will take you past the Perray Technical Center and the set design workshops of Angers Nantes Opéra, offering a cultural and playful experience.

Colorful costumes, decorated bikes, and an overall cheerful vibe create a unique atmosphere along the route, blending carnival fun with sporty excitement. Each year, the event draws both cycling enthusiasts and families looking for a fun weekend activity.
