After galloping along the Seine in front of millions of spectators and then traveling across France with stops as iconic as Mont-Saint-Michel, Zeus is heading home. And this return is special, because it’s here in Nantes that he was born in the workshops of Atelier Blam, under the guidance of Aurélien Meyer, the same creator who designed the Olympic cauldron that held the flame in Paris.
A Monster of Poetry and Technology
Towering several meters high and dressed in a sparkling silver coat, Zeus is more than just a mechanical marvel. He embodies a whole imagination, that of a city where art, technique, and creative madness intersect every day. His presence in Place Graslin will take the place, for the duration of the event, of the work by Prune Nourry presented this summer as part of the Voyage à Nantes.
But forget the idea of a simple, frozen statue. Nantes Métropole and Sanofi, the co-producers of this tour, announce a specially designed scenography for this final stop, complete with spectacular lighting.Visuals, animations, and sound ambiance to create a dialogue between ancient mythology and contemporary innovation.
