The Editor

She fascinates as much as she questions. Through her sculptures and unique perception of art, Caroline Mesquita breaks free from traditional constraints to engage in an innovative and surprising creative process. And precisely, from May 17th to September 29th, the artist takes us on a dreamlike journey into her unique artistic universe in her new exhibition "CuCO&CO" at the HAB Galerie in Nantes.

Playing with Space

Caroline Mesquita has grandiose ambitions. While she is not afraid to take on large-scale projects in general, for her exhibition CuCO&CO, the Marseille native goes above and beyond. And with a new exhibition comes a new challenge. True to form, she tries to merge her art with the space she is in.

At the HAB Gallery, she transforms the concrete space to let an imaginary fresco unfold. In her world that flirts with dream and reality, we are faced with human-scale environments where colorful figurative sculptures of fictional characters, felines, and birds succeed each other, made of cut, twisted, rolled, and welded metal.

Pushing Boundaries

Starting from the idea that a sculpture is not just a sculpture, Caroline Mesquita pushes all the boundaries of her artistic practice, and more! Through the architectural installations, sculptures, brass paintings, and stop motion videos that make up CuCO&CO, she offers a total immersion into a dimension where time does not exist and where all beings coexist in great harmony. An exhibition without earthly or temporal limits, allowing you to escape reality for a few minutes. So, when will we see you there?
